Bathroom renovation Dietikon — complete renovation from strip-out to acceptance
Strip-out, plumbing, waterproofing and tiling from the same company — no hand-over point where things get stuck.
Pressure and leak test of the new pipes, photos of the waterproofing before it is closed — you receive both.
The date is in the contract, not in a verbal promise. 5-year warranty from acceptance.
Between 1945 and 1975, Dietikon grew from around 6,500 to more than 23,000 inhabitants, and according to the city, the building stock also increased massively. For a bathroom from those years, a complete renovation with us means stripping out down to the shell: what lies behind old tiles only shows after the strip-out, and every new pipe receives a pressure and leak test with a report. If the bathroom is to become larger and a non-load-bearing partition wall is to be moved, § 14 BVV provides for the notification procedure (Anzeigeverfahren) — without profiling poles (Aussteckung) or public notice, with a processing period of 30 days (§ 13 BVV). We build this period into the programme before the strip-out, not afterwards. Travel of about ten minutes is included in the fixed price.
Six steps, always in this order. If one is skipped, it only shows years later — usually as damp.
Old fixtures, tiles and substructure come out; rubble is removed as we go.
Laid and checked with a pressure and leak test. The report goes to you.
WC, cistern and niches built into the wall — the plumbing disappears and you gain storage space.
Applied before tiling and photographed before it is covered. Without this step, a level-access shower is not watertight.
Floor and walls, large-format or small, according to your choice of materials.
Taps, mirror, lighting, cleaning — handover with an acceptance report.
For a complete bathroom renovation in Dietikon we expect CHF 8'500–19'000 for labour — Dismantling, new pipework, bonded waterproofing, wall and floor tiles, WC, washbasin, shower — large formats and bathtub at the upper end. Materials (tiles, fixtures, fittings) come on top, as you choose. Travel is included in the fixed price and is not a separate item.

In Dietikon, the city's building office (Bauamt, Bremgartnerstrasse 22, 8953 Dietikon) is responsible. Under § 1 of the cantonal Building Procedures Ordinance (Bauverfahrensverordnung, BVV), bathroom, laundry and toilet installations as well as water and electrical connections that are not visible from outside normally need no building permit (Baubewilligung) in the building zone — nor does removing interior partition walls between living rooms. Changes of use and structural changes beyond that, for example to the facade or load-bearing walls, do require a permit (§ 309 PBG). If an interior partition wall is moved or a new one is added, the notification procedure (Anzeigeverfahren) applies (§ 14 BVV). If in doubt, the city recommends contacting the building secretariat (Bausekretariat) — we clarify your case before work starts and confirm the outcome in writing. A bathroom that stays in the same place and needs no new pipe through the load-bearing structure is usually straightforward.
A watertight, fully documented bathroom in three to four weeks. The owner holds the test report and photos of the pipes taken before the walls were closed.
What we are asked most often before a bathroom renovation in Dietikon.
For a complete bathroom renovation we expect CHF 8'500 to 19'000 for labour, excl. VAT. A bathroom with a shower in the existing layout tends towards the lower end; one with a bathtub, large-format tiles or relocated connections towards the upper end. Materials come on top, as you choose; travel is included.
If a non-load-bearing partition wall is moved or a new one is added for this, it goes through the notification procedure (Anzeigeverfahren, § 14 BVV), with a processing period of 30 days. If a load-bearing wall is affected, a building permit is needed (§ 309 PBG); whether a wall is load-bearing is clarified beforehand by a structural engineer — we coordinate this. If the bathroom stays in the same place, normally no permit is needed (§ 1 BVV).
Not necessarily. We check them during the survey and after the strip-out; anything that is renewed receives a pressure and leak test with a report. If something turns up behind the wall that is not in the quote, we tell you in writing before we carry on.
Our emergency plumbing service can be reached around the clock on +41 76 524 98 98 and is usually on site in the Limmat Valley within 60 to 120 minutes. Once the damage has been dealt with, we discuss with you whether a repair is enough or whether renovating the whole bathroom is worthwhile.
On the reference project (bathroom in green marble) it took three to four weeks from strip-out to acceptance. We give you the binding date after the survey on site; it then goes into the contract.
No. During a complete renovation the bathroom cannot be used from removal to installation. If the property has only one bathroom, we plan this with you in advance.
As you prefer. We can source everything, or you supply the materials and we install them — either way, the labour is shown separately in the quote.
Yes. Same materials, same process, flat by flat — so the effort per bathroom stays predictable and the flats can be let again one after another.
Choose an area, choose a service, move the slider — you see the guide price for the labour straight away. Materials and VAT come on top; the fixed-price quote is binding.
CHF 18–25 per m²
Two coats, covering included (paint as materials extra)
Unit prices for the labour from our 2026 price list (lower price segment), excl. VAT. The higher figure applies in difficult conditions. Materials, disposal of strip-out material, crane, scaffolding and permits come on top. The guide price does not replace a site visit.
