Water damage restoration in Zurich.

Once the leak has been stopped, the damage remains: wet walls, parquet lifting, loose tiles. We handle the restoration from one company — the pipe with a pressure test and test report, strip-out, coordinated building drying, then plastering, tiling, parquet and painting. One site manager, and a quote you can forward to your insurer.

Three firm commitments.

A quote for your insurer

Fixed-price quote within 48 hours of the site visit, item by item, with labour and materials shown separately — ready to forward to your insurer and the property management.

Tested and documented

We test the repaired or new pipe with a pressure and leak test and give you the test report. Photos record the damage, the opened-up building parts and the pipes before they are closed in.

One site manager through to acceptance

Strip-out, plumbing, plastering, tiling, parquet and painting come from one company, and we coordinate the technical building drying. You have one contact person — right through to acceptance with a report.

Dry first, then close up.

After a burst pipe, usually only part of the damage is visible: a stain on the ceiling, a wet wall, parquet that is lifting. The water is often in the walls and screeds as well. That is why we work in a fixed order. First the cause is permanently repaired and the pipe is checked with a pressure and leak test, with a test report. Then we open up whatever is soaked and remove whatever cannot be saved — photographed before anything is disposed of. We coordinate the technical building drying; nothing is closed up until the moisture measurements allow it. Laying tiles or painting too early traps moisture and risks mould. Rebuilding then follows in the same sequence: plastering and drywall, waterproofing and tiling, parquet or floor covering, and painting last. If the electrical installation is affected as well, the work is done by a licensed electrical firm, coordinated by us.

What it costs.

Every case of water damage is different. That is why we quote the restoration at a fixed price after the site visit — item by item, labour and materials separate. There is no guide price for technical building drying: we give you the price after the site visit; it depends on the soaked surfaces and building parts, and on how long the measurements require drying to continue. Plaster repairs are charged at CHF 25 per m², removing parquet at CHF 25 per m² (excluding disposal). All prices excl. VAT, materials separate. Travel is included in Zurich and the surrounding agglomeration; outside this area it appears as a fixed item in the quote. Guide prices for the individual tasks:

Frequently asked questions.

What we are asked most often after water damage.

Who pays for the restoration after water damage?

That is for your insurer to decide based on your policy. In the canton of Zurich: the GVZ (Gebäudeversicherung Kanton Zürich, the cantonal building insurer) insures buildings against fire and natural hazards. According to the GVZ, damage caused by burst pipes, backflow from sewer pipes or groundwater is not insured and is to be covered on a voluntary basis by a private building water damage insurance policy (Gebäudewasserversicherung). Furniture and other movable property are not insured by the GVZ either. Which policy applies in your case is something to clarify directly with your insurer.

Which documents do we receive for the insurer?

Photos of the damage and of the opened-up building parts, taken before anything is disposed of. The pressure and leak test report for the repaired or new pipe. The fixed-price quote within 48 hours of the site visit, item by item, with labour and materials shown separately. And on completion, the acceptance report with photos and an invoice that follows the quote. Everything can be forwarded directly to your insurer and the property management.

How long does the drying take?

No fixed figure can be given in advance: it depends on how much water got where and which building parts are soaked. We coordinate the technical building drying; the moisture measurement is what counts. Nothing is closed up until it allows — otherwise moisture stays trapped and there is a risk of mould. We set the handover date for the rebuilding in the contract for work (Werkvertrag) as soon as the end of the drying is in sight.

I am a tenant — what do I need to do?

Report the damage to the property management or landlord straight away. Under Art. 257g of the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR), tenants must report to the landlord any defects they are not themselves required to remedy; if they fail to do so, they are liable for the resulting damage to the landlord. The property management decides on the restoration. Tenants must tolerate work that is necessary to remedy defects or to repair damage (Art. 257h OR). The landlord must give notice of such work in good time and take the tenant’s interests into account; claims for a rent reduction remain reserved.

Does everything have to be opened up?

Only what is necessary. What is opened up and removed is determined at the site visit, recorded with photos and entered item by item in the quote. If opening up reveals more than could be seen beforehand, we report it in writing before we continue.

How much does restoration after water damage cost?

That depends on the damage; the binding figure is the fixed-price quote after the site visit. Guide prices for labour: removing floor coverings CHF 15 to 25 per m², removing tiles CHF 32 to 40 per m², water pipes CHF 55 to 70 per running metre including a pressure test, wall tiles CHF 62 to 85 per m², floating parquet from CHF 45 per m², painting walls CHF 18 to 25 per m². Materials and VAT are added; we give you the price for technical building drying after the site visit.

Do you also handle the emergency?

Yes. If water is still escaping, call our emergency plumbing service — around the clock on +41 76 524 98 98, usually on site within 60 to 120 minutes in Zurich and the Limmat Valley. We then carry out the restoration in the same sequence, even if someone else has already stopped the leak.
