Kitchen renovation in Lucerne.

Kitchen renovation in Lucerne and the surrounding agglomeration — from strip-out to acceptance in one continuous block, coordinated by one site management team, with a fixed, itemised travel charge.

Kitchen renovation Lucerne — strip-out, connections, installation, splashback and painting from one company

Three firm commitments.

All trades around the kitchen

Strip-out, plumbing, drywall, tiling, painting and flooring come from the same company. The electrical connections are made by a licensed electrical firm, coordinated by us.

Labour and materials separate

The quote lists our labour item by item. Kitchen units, appliances and materials are shown separately — so you can see exactly what you are paying for.

Schedule after the survey

We give you the binding date as soon as the layout, the connections and the kitchen delivery date are confirmed. It is set out in the contract.

The whole kitchen in one block.

Lucerne is about fifty minutes from our base in Zurich-Altstetten. For a kitchen renovation, that means we plan it as one continuous block rather than many short visits. For that to work, everything has to be on site before the strip-out: the new kitchen, the appliances and the materials for connections, splashback and painting. Only then does the old kitchen come out. Strip-out, connections, fitting, splashback, painting and flooring then follow in one sequence, coordinated by one site management team; the electrical connections are made by a licensed electrical firm, coordinated by us. For property managers with several locations, we group kitchens, bathrooms and vacant flats under a framework agreement. Travel is a fixed item in the quote, known in advance.

What it costs.

For fitting the kitchen alone, we charge CHF 900 to CHF 1'800 per kitchen, excluding special cases for appliance connections. Work around the kitchen is priced at the same guide rates as in the overview. All figures cover labour only: kitchen units, appliances, materials and the electrical connections by the licensed electrical firm are extra. Travel is included in Zurich and the surrounding agglomeration; outside this area it appears as a fixed item in the quote.

Connecting appliancesCHF 75–120per item
Tiling the splashbackCHF 62–85per m²

Building permit.

In the canton of Lucerne, § 54 para. 1 of the Planning and Building Ordinance (Planungs- und Bauverordnung, PBV) exempts changes from the permit requirement where neither the public nor the neighbours have an interest in checking them in advance. Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems inside the building are among those named explicitly (para. 2 let. d). Whether your kitchen renovation falls under this is assessed by the municipality — we clarify it before work starts and confirm it in writing.

Frequently asked questions.

What we are asked most often before a kitchen renovation in Lucerne.

How much does a kitchen renovation in Lucerne cost?

For complete kitchen fitting — units, worktop, appliance connections — we charge CHF 900 to 1'800 in labour. In our sample calculation for a kitchen run of about four metres that stays in place, with strip-out, a tiled splashback, painting and four new sockets, we arrive at roughly CHF 3'000 to 5'800 in labour. Kitchen units, appliances and materials are extra; travel from Zurich-Altstetten (about 50 minutes) is a fixed item in the quote.

Does a kitchen renovation in Lucerne need a building permit?

Not in every case. Under § 54 PBV, changes are exempt from the permit requirement where neither the public nor the neighbours have an interest in checking them in advance. Whether that applies to your kitchen renovation is assessed by the municipality; we clarify it before work starts and confirm it in writing.

How long will we be without a kitchen in Lucerne?

That depends on the scope: fitting within the existing layout is much quicker than a remodelling with new pipes, tiling and painting. Because we work in one block in Lucerne, we only start once the kitchen and materials have been delivered — so the work does not stall waiting for materials. We give you the binding period after the survey; it is set out in the contract.

Will you come to Lucerne for a single kitchen?

Yes. We work throughout Switzerland — for a complete kitchen renovation as well as smaller jobs such as new fronts, a new worktop or a splashback. Small jobs have a minimum of three hours; travel is a fixed item in the quote. For property managers with several locations, a framework agreement is the more sensible arrangement.
